● You can turn on "automatic hiding" when the app is launched (i.e. when system starts up). You can choose the preferences of settings from "immediately" to "15 minutes".
... and of course, you can set up the app launching automatically when the system starts up or a user logs in.
● In order to avoid unwanted activation (displaying the hidden icons), for example, something controlled in window close to menu bar, you can choose the preferences of activation time delay in the settings.
It means, when the mouse cursor reaches the menu bar, hidden icons will be displayed after the time delay.
● You can set an offset distance when the menu items will be hidden back. It helps if you want to control or click some menu of hidden items instead of using mouse cursor for quick view of state of hidden items in menu bar only.
It means, the cursor has to be distanced that was set from the menu bar to hide displayed menu icons again.
